*Travel time and expenses are included in the first ¼ hour rate.

$14.25 per each additional ¼ hour (plus parts).

NO additional overtime or weekend charges for emergency residential plumbing services!

Equipment Charges -Some services require the use of specialized equipment which we charge for on a per-use basis:

Main Line sewer snake 3" - 6" lines up to 100 total feet in length - $40.00

1.5 - 2.0 inch drain lines beyond 15 feet length to 75 feet length - $25.00 (mid size snake)

Sewer snake equipment is expensive and requires constant maintenance to insure reliability. There is extra time spent cleaning & repairing these machines- that is why we charge an equipment charge.

Video Camera, Transmitter/ Receiver Pipe Locator - $75.00

*We believe that time and materials is the fairest pricing system that we can offer.  Kevin has over 25 years of plumbing experience and, except when attention to detail is absolutely critical, he works at assembly line speed.  You really don't want us to use the flat rate or "up-front" pricing systems that charge you by the job.

These generally contain hidden fees (not quite so flat rate or "up-front" as they claim to be), and are set up to protect the larger plumbing companies from incurring any labor losses that come with hiring inexerienced technicians to perform plumbing repairs.

They often arrive with with large vans stocked with new water heaters and toilets at marked-up costs to the customers, instead of parts for repairs.  That's because the profit side of the plumbing industry is focusing on training their technicians to "sell, sell, sell."  And we understand their reasoning: There isn't nearly as much profit in replacing a flapper valve, as there is in replacing an entire toilet.

But,is it the general public's attitude that has brought this about?

*Plumbers and their charges are the butt of jokes and the basis for a strong customer misunderstanding. Why does the plumber have to charge so much per hour? Their fee per hour has to cover all their business expenses... truck expense and the cost of insurance. The hourly fee has to cover licensing and business insurance. It has to cover all the office expenses. The idea of the charge going directly to the pocket of the plumber making the call is just not true and certainly is misunderstood by the customers. TESTIMONIAL

If you are buying a home in middle Tennessee, don't trust your plumbing inspection to a home inspector, appraiser or realtor. After we purchased and moved into our home in Jackson County, we spent weeks with plumbers who could not find our septic tank.  Even an official from the health department came out to show the backhoe operator where to dig, but after hours of misses, he gave up, as well.

We were having a lot of problems with the plumbing, and nobody could fix them.  After asking around, a neighbor told us about Leigh Plumbing's video pipe inspection service.

That's when we discovered that our septic tank was located under the house!

If I had known about Leigh Plumbing's video pipe inspection services before we bought this house, we never would have bought it in the first place, or watched over $130,000.00 go "down the drain."

Don't ever buy a home without calling Leigh Plumbing first.
